Often used for posters that need to withstand the elements in an outdoor environment, or for posters in a high-traffic area like school corridors, malls or public facilities, encapsulation protects the paper from getting wet or dirty.

Restaurants often use encapsulation for their menus, because encapsulated menus are easy to wipe clean and sanitise.

Many companies also use encapsulated notices in their office spaces to convey internal information to staff.

Other encapsulated items include bookmarks, dry-erase planners and reusable dry-erase activity cards for school children.
